Anna Barbara Shiels was born in 1876 and was the fourth of nine children born to Thomas Prentice Shiels and Margaret Avery. She was an eighth generation descendant of Micheal Shiels.

Anna Barbara Shiels was born April 22, 1876 in Brussells, Ontario. She was the fourth child of Thomas Prentice Shiels and Margaret Avery.
Anna Barbara married Ira Hayes on December 26, 1893 in Lisbon, North Dakota, USA. They had five children, Roy, Warren, Chester, Margaret and Myrtle.
Ira died on July 1, 1939, in Great Falls, Montana, USA, at the age of 81. Anna died September 2, 1955 in Fort Ransom, North Dakota, USA, at the age of 79.

Roy E Hayes was born on December 18, 1894 at Fort Ransom, North Dakota. He was the first child of Ira and Anna Barbara (Shiels) Hayes. Roy died on May 7, 1899 when he was les than 5 years old.
G9: Warren Hayes 1896-1969 & Neva Dorothy Bakewell
Warren Hayes was born on September 8, 1896 at Cleaveland, North Dakota. He was the second child of Ira and Anna Barbara (Shiels) Hayes.
He married Neva Dorothy Bakewell on August 6, 1924, in Allamakee, Iowa, USA. Warren became a Dentist and had his own practice in Waukon, Iowa. They did not have any children.
Neva died on February 6, 1968, in her hometown at the age of 74. Warren died on January 13, 1969, in Waukon, Iowa, USA, at the age of 72.
G9: Chester Francis Hayes 1900-1938
Chester Francis Hayes was born on October 21, 1900 at Courtnay, North Dakota. He was the third child of Ira and Anna Barbara (Shiels) Hayes. Chester never married and died on May 8, 1938, in Allamakee, Iowa, USA, at the age of 37.

Margaret Martha Hayes was born on August 5, 1902 at Courtnay, North Dakota. She was the fourth child of Ira and Anna Barbara (Shiels) Hayes. Unfortunately, we have no other information on Margaret.

Myrtle Louella Hayes was born on August 5, 1905 at Courtnay, North Dakota. She was the fifth child of Ira and Anna Barbara (Shiels) Hayes.
Martha married John “Jack” Henry Ray Shipton on December 4, 1926, in Great Falls, Montana, USA. They had one child during their marriage, John Shipton Jr 1927-2009.
Martha died on November 3, 2005, in Sparks, Nevada, USA, at the age of 100.

John “Jack” L Shipton Jr was born on September 2, 1927, in Great Falls, Montana, USA, to Myrtle Louella Hayes, age 22, and John “Jack” Henry Ray Shipton, age 28.
John married Dorothy Freida Leehman in Fallon, Nevada, USA, on October 19, 1946, when he was 19 years old. They had three children during their marriage, Rose 1948, Julie 1952 and John.
John died on February 7, 2009, in Sparks, Nevada, USA, at the age of 81. Dorothy died on July 30, 2020, in Sparks, Nevada, USA, at the age of 91.
