Mary was a seventh generation descendant of Michael Shiels.
She never married and died on October 22, 1892, when she was only 19 years old.

Margaret Shiels was born in 1875 in Leith, Midlothian, Scotland, to Mary Skellie, age 26, and George Shiels, age 29.
Margaret was a seventh generation descendant of Michael Shiels.
She married Alexander Porteous in 1897 in her hometown.
They had one child during their marriage, George Porteous, born in 1898. George lost his mother when he was only 6 years old.
Margaret died as a young mother in 1904 in Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland, at the age of 29.

James Shiels was born on October 18, 1880, in Leith, Midlothian, Scotland, to Mary Skellie, age 31, and George Shiels, age 34.
James was a seventh generation descendant of Michael Shiels.

She married Alexander Thomson Jamieson and they had seven children. Alexander Porteous Jamieson was born in 1910; Mary Jamieson was born in 1911; John Thomson Jamieson was born in 1913; Walter Jamieson was born in 1916; Alexander Thomson Jamieson was born in 1922 and Annie Shiels Jamieson was born in 1927.
Annie died on November 5, 1979, in Morningside, Midlothian, Scotland, at the age of 95.
