G1: Gerry Family

Family history research is such a wonderful rewarding hobby. Although your surname may not be the same, your bloodline remains and you can learn many things from your ancestors. 

On the Gerry family, we  begin with Benjamin Gerry born in 1644 in Devon, England. He will be referred to as G1 and his children will be G2 and so on.

G1: Benjamin Gerry 1644-1711 & Elianor Langdon

Benjamin Gerry was born in 1644 in Devon, England when his father, Samuel, was 42.

He married Elianor Langdon on February 20, 1672, in North Petherwin, Devon, England. They had six children in 10 years. Ambroise 1672-1739; Leonard 1673-1759; twins Elizabeth & Christian 1676 and twins Joseph & William 1682.

Benjamin died on October 9, 1711, in his hometown at the age of 67. Elianor died Aug 10, 1720.

G2: Ambroise Gerry 1672-1739 & Agnes Giles

When Ambrose Gerry was born in February 1672 in North Petherwin, Devon, England, his father, Benjamin, was 28 and his mother, Elianor, was 18.

He married Agnes Giles on July 24, 1700, in Broadwoodwidger, Devon, England when he was 28 years old. They had three children during their marriage, Catherine 1713, Benjamin 1715 and John 1719.

Ambrose died on May 6, 1739, in his hometown at the age of 67.

G2: Leonard Gerry 1673-1759 & Edith Beare & Charity Littlejohn

Leonard Gerry was born on January 4, 1673, in North Petherwin, Devon, England.

He married Edith Beare on Nov 14, 1701 and they had nine children together. Benjamin 1701-1735; Johann 1702; Leonard 1704-1704; Edith 1705-1738; Leonard 1707-1708; Samuel 1709-1739; Thomas 1712-1776.

After Edith died, Leonard married Charity Christy Littlejohn and they had three children together, Leonard 1720-1799; John 1723-1796 and Richard 1727-1816.

Leonard died on July 28, 1759, in Ashwater, Devon, England, having lived a long life of 86 years

G2: Elizabeth Gerry 1676

Elizabeth Gerry and her twin sister Christian were born on January 16, 1676, in North Petherwin, Devon, England, their father, Benjamin, was 32 and their mother, Elianor, was 22. She had four brothers and one sister.

Christian Gerry and her twin sister Elizabeth were born on January 16, 1676, in North Petherwin, Devon, England. She had four brothers and one sister.

G2: Joseph Gerry 1682

Joseph Gerry and his twin brother William, was born on September 10, 1682 in North Petherwin, Devon, England.

Joseph married Jane Richards and they had a daughter Jane.

Joseph died as a young father in 1704 at the age of 22.

G2: William Gerry 1682-1704

When William Gerry was born on September 10, 1682, in North Petherwin, Devon, England, his father, Benjamin, was 38 and his mother, Elianor, was 28. William had a twin brother Joseph.

William never married and died in 1704 at the age of 22. He was buried in St. Keverne, Cornwall, England.
