Mary Jones was born on November 14, 1860, in Brongwyn, Cardiganshire, Wales. She was the second child of David Jones (1834) & Rachel Ellen Jones.

Mary Jones was born on November 14, 1860, in Brongwyn, Cardiganshire, Wales. She was the third child of David Jones (1834) & Rachel Ellen Jones.
Mary had a son David Owen was born on April 30, 1891, in Brongwyn, Cardiganshire, Wales. The father’s name was Richard Jones, however they were not married and Richard played no role in his son’s life. Mary & David Owen lived with her parents until Mary’s mother died in 1901. Mary’s father had died earlier in 1893.
After Rachel died, Mary went to work keeping house for Griffith Lodwick on a farm called Rhosfawr. Mary Jones married Griffith Lodwick in April 1902 when she was 41 years old. Griffith Lodwick was born on December 20, 1857, in Blaenporth, Cardiganshire. Although David was already 10 years old, Griffith helped raise him as though he was his own.
Blaenporth is a parish in the county of Cardigan, 6 miles north-east from Cardigan (the nearest station), on the Whitland and Cardigan railway, six and a half miles north-west from Newcastle Emlyn, and 2 south-east of Aberporth, in Lower Troedyraur hundred and petty sessional division, union and county court of Cardigan, and in the rural deanery of St. David’s. The church of St. David is a building in the decorated style, consisting of chanel, nave, aisles, south porch and a turret containing 2 bells. The east window is stained. The church was repaired in 1864 and affords 150 sittings. The registers date from the year 1716.
Griffith passed away on February 3, 1926, at the age of 68. They had been married 23 years.
After Griffith’s death, Mary moved in with her son David Owen Jones and his family.
Mary died on September 24, 1933, in Nantgaredig, Carmarthenshire, Wales, when she was 72 years old.

David Owen Jones was born on April 30, 1891, in Brongwyn, Cardiganshire, Wales. He was the only child of Mary Jones.
David lived with his mother and grandparents until his grandparent passed away. Then he moved with his mother to work for Griffith Lodwick and stayed there till he was 20 years old and went out to work as a farm laborer. He fought in WW1 and suffered a mustard gas attack
He married Martha Elizabeth Gwladys Phillips in 1923 and they had 4 children.
