Ten Generations of Shiels Family History
With the new homepage in place, the next major step was completing the ten generation pages that form the backbone of Shiels.ca.
Beginning with Micheal Shiels, born in Ireland around 1690, the story follows the family through Scotland and eventually across the Atlantic to Canada. Each generation has its own page, combining family information with photographs, documents and stories gathered during more than forty years of research.
On September 6, all ten generations of the direct family line, from G1 Micheal Shiels through G10 Dan Shiels, were online. Together, these pages created one branch through the Shiels family story and provided the foundation from which the many other branches of the family could be explored.
